About Our Hospital

As the only freestanding licensed acute care rehabilitation hospital in South Central Kentucky, we are proud of our qualified personnel and specialized services.

Certified rehabilitation registered nurses (CRRNs) make up the nursing leadership on each shift. CRRNs have worked in a rehabilitation hospital for a minimum of two years and have passed a national certification examination.

Patient training areas, including bathrooms, bedrooms and kitchens, all have the equipment necessary for patients to learn and practice activities of daily living.

Our indoor heated therapy pool is perfect for individual or group therapy.

Our two transitional departments feature a full bedroom, bathroom and kitchen where patients can practice self-care skills before discharge.

Each patient room has individual temperature control and a window that opens to the outdoors. Each patient has his or her own television and telephone.

Our mobility training court includes stairs, bridges, curbs and various surfaces such as grass, gravel and sand to help patients learn how to maneuver safely on various terrains.

Upon referral, a registered nurse liaison performs an on-site evaluation. Based on the results, the medical director approves admission or recommends alternative treatment. Primary care physicians are welcome to follow patients during their rehabilitation care. SKY also offers home evaluations.
