Howard D.

Howard presented to a local emergency room unable to walk and in severe knee and back pain.  He had significant anxiety with physical and respiratory deconditioning.  He lacked motivation for daily chores and self-care at home.

Dependent for all mobility and activities of daily living (ADLs) upon admission, Howard's goal was to get his body back to pain-free shape and to return home.  With positive reinforcement, education and daily therapy, Howard was able to achieve his goal!

With the support of his team at Vibra Hospital of Southeastern Michigan, Howard regained his motivation and overcame his frustration.  He learned energy conservation and work simplification to ease his fear of pain with pain management techniques to overcome his self-doubt.  He looked forward to the gym program daily and increased his endurance to safely ambulate with a walker above and beyond community mobility of 400ft.

Howard said he loved the way therapy made him feel stronger and said "thank you" after every visit, truly giving his all at each session.
