Dennis was presented to Henry Ford Wyandotte Hospital with shortness of breath. He was managed for acute-on-chronic hypoxic respiratory failure secondary to acute influenza A infection, COPD exacerbation and acute anxiety disorder.
Upon initial physical therapy & occupational therapy assessment, he required assistance throughout all mobility, extensive assistance for all activities of daily living (ADLs), and frequent rest breaks to complete all activities, due to poor endurance.
Dennis demonstrated strong intrinsic motivation and determination to return home, rather than going to a rehab facility, throughout all his therapy sessions and activities.
During his time at Vibra Hospital of Southeastern Michigan - Taylor Campus, Dennis improved across-the-board. He reached independence with transfers and bed mobility and only required supervision for car transfers, ambulation (including stairs) and ADLs.
We are honored that Dennis made the choice to join us at Vibra for his recovery and proud of the hard work he put in to return home. Great job, Dennis!Posted By
