Martin Stover was admitted to Vibra Hospital of Richmond for long-term antibiotic therapy and wound care. Months prior to Martin's admission to Vibra, he had suffered a serious orthopedic injury that resulted in a fracture to his right ankle. Multiple procedures were performed and external hardware was placed to the fracture site. Martin, unfortunately, developed a severe infection that settled in his bones and took a toll on his overall health. The physicians at the time ordered 6 weeks of IV antibiotic therapy and recommended a long-term acute care (LTAC) hospital.
During the hospital course at Vibra our team of physicians, nurses, therapists and other clinical specialists collaborated to ensure Martin's plan of care was individualized to meet his needs. The weight-bearing restrictions that were previously placed on Martin's right leg were lifted within 2 weeks and extensive therapy sessions were scheduled to begin. After 22 days of care at Vibra, we are excited to share that Martin was accepted into the inpatient rehabilitation program at Sheltering Arms.Posted By
