Elmer came to rehab after a serious infection in his brain. He had to have surgery to open his skull and clean out the infection. This left him with some serious deficits that he had to overcome in order to go home. He couldn’t move his entire left side when he was admitted and had trouble talking.
He worked very hard while he stayed as a patient here at Gateway before going home with his family. He continues his work in our outpatient department and has made a lot of progress. He thinks that the time and attention that Dr. Mook gave to his care made all the difference.
Today, Elmer walks without a cane or walker and is enjoying life. Elmer says his advice to others coming to rehab is to “listen to the staff and do what they ask because the treatment really works! Just take it day by day and in the end, you will see the results.”Posted By
