Adeline C.

This determined patient, ninety-eight year old Adeline Cima, was admitted with an everworsening infection in her foot, which had turned to gangrene. The wound, of course, had weakened her entire
system. Other physicians informed her that amputation was the only option, while noting her condition was precarious. However, she and her brother, Robert Bell, would simply not accept this diagnosis. Mr. Bell’s internet research brought him to the treatment potential here at Vibra Hospital of Charleston. Trusting in our wound care specialists, his sister was admitted two days later, in late August.

“It has been a miraculous turnaround!” exclaimed Bob. “We had come up against barrier after barrier, but once Adeline got to Vibra, they not only healed her wounds, they prevented the loss of her foot . . . our top priority.”

A patient in the LTAC (Long Term Acute Care Hospital) for several months, Adeline was transferred to the TCU (Transitional Care Unit) side of Vibra to begin therapy. Within three weeks, she was on her feet, taking steps!

Mrs. Cima is exemplary of the recuperative successes at Vibra Hospital. Our dedicated teams of health care professionals: our doctors, nurses and caring staff work wonders on a daily basis.
