Beth K.

Hi, my name is Beth K.. I am from Bismarck, ND and I’m here to share my story about my transition from CHI St. Alexius Health Bismarck, to Vibra Hospital of the Central Dakotas. At the beginning of July, 2017, I had an incident which caused me to have excruciating neck pain. Not knowing how serious it was, I went into St. Alexius because the pain was too much to handle. I was then admitted to St. Alexius for both a blood infection and bone infection in my neck. I found myself panicking for concern of my animals back at home. I was told I needed 6 weeks of IV antibiotic treatment, which was hard for me to deal with, due to the animals I care for at home. I was told if I didn’t go through with the treatment, my infection could return leaving me unable to care for my animals if I discharged home early.

So, I was discharged from St. Alexius and transferred to Vibra Hospital, where I remained for my 6 weeks of antibiotic therapy. My heart ached for home and all my farm animals, but I was convinced to stay for my own well-being. That way, I could return home healthy to take care of my furry friends. Vibra became like family to me. The nurses here care, the moods are positive, and their proper care got me back to healthy. The care and advice given to me by my doctors and their team set me in the right direction. Like I said, everyone who took the time for me, to make sure I was okay, became like a second family to me. My situation was life or death. I chose life.

Thanks again for taking good care of me. You are all my friends and will never be forgotten!

Love,
Beth
