On April 7, 2016, Yesenia Rodriguez started her day off at school as usual,
but, by her 3rd
period class she had an excruciating headache, so much so, that her good friend rushed her
to the nurses office. It was not long after that she fell unconscious and was taken to one of
our short term acute care hospitals for immediate surgery. This beautiful young 17 year old
suffered a brain aneurysm and after three major surgeries was not given a positive prognosis.
That is where her Vibra journey began. Yesenia came to Vibra on April 21, on a vent and still in a coma. Her father, Juan, had stated that their close knit family was in her room praying for her recovery when Yesenia opened her eyes for the first time. Since that moment, her recovery has been on an upward trajectory. From the caring and knowledgeable staff at Vibra, her incredible strength gained from her family, and our strong community healthcare partners, Yesenia will be graduating from high school this year with her class, has a goal of participating on the track team at Caldwell High School, where she attends and has aspirations of becoming a lawyer. Knowing Yesenia and her wonderful family, her dreams will surely become realities.
