New Chief Executive Officer Joins Southern Indiana Rehabilitation Hospital

Southern Indiana Rehabilitation Hospital (SIRH) is pleased to announce Diana Chavis as the new chief executive officer of the hospital.

Diana comes to SIRH from Columbia, SC. Prior to joining SIRH, Diana was employed as the senior executive director of Wildewood Downs, a continuous care residential community in Columbia, SC. As senior executive director, Diana was responsible for independent living, assisted living, memory care, skilled nursing, and long-term care. Diana is dual-licensed in South Carolina as a nursing home and assisted living administrator as well as a licensed preceptor for long-term care.

She has worked for a Columbia-based hospital system in a director role for skilled nursing, acute care and outpatient rehabilitation. Prior to that, she worked at an inpatient rehabilitation hospital in Augusta, GA assisting in developing a pediatric rehabilitation program. Her career in inpatient rehabilitation started at a hospital in Fort Smith, AR, which is where she is originally from.

Diana holds a master’s degree in health care management. She has had extensive leadership training through Studer Group and the University of South Carolina Leadership Institute. Diana served as the president of the South Carolina Association of Rehabilitation Facilities for 5 years.

Diana is married to Barry Chavis and is a mother and grandmother. Diana currently resides in Jeffersonville, IN.
