Whenever Ed had a spare moment, he loved to spend it working on cars. He enjoyed an independent, self-sufficient life. Then he slipped on ice and suffered a skull fracture and brain injury.
To regain his independence, Ed came to Vibra Rehabilitation Hospital of Denver. Ed arrived at Vibra confused, agitated, and lethargic. He required total assistance with all tasks. The interdisciplinary team got right to work with Ed on an individualized rehabilitation plan. His plan included occupational, physical, and speech therapies, as well as nursing and medical intervention.
Progress could be seen within just a few days. Ed started to perk up. He began sitting up on his own and transferring from bed-to-wheelchair without a mechanical lift. Soon, he was feeding himself, walking short distances, showering with supervision, and solving puzzles.
Ed's rehab journey is just beginning. But his determination, drive, and jovial personality have begun to shine through. Those assets will support his continued progress and healing.Posted By
