Cynthia Sitting Dog arrived at Vibra Hospital of the Central Dakotas facing a long road to recovery. An infection in her right leg required a fasciotomy to avoid amputation. The procedure left her with wounds that required specialized care.
From her first day at Vibra, Cynthia was pleasant and cooperative. Though there were times she was uncomfortable, Cynthia always had a smile on her face. She loved to joke with the staff and appreciated everyone's help. That positive, cheerful attitude would prove helpful to her recovery.
Because of her wounds, Cynthia had increased nutritional needs. As those wounds began to heal, therapy would be needed to help restore her strength and independence. At first, Cynthia could only walk 15 feet and could not care for herself. But she worked hard and made great progress.
When Cynthia's husband came to visit, they'd be seen walking the halls together. She progressed to climbing stairs and dressing herself, now able to return home safely. Cynthia was so excited when the staff gave her this news!Posted By
