Matthew H. admitted to University Hospital after an unfortunate motorcycle accident. He suffered significant neurological damage in the crash with numerous intracranial hemorrhages. After progressing at University Hospital, Matthew admitted to Vibra Hospital of Denver for the next stage of his recovery.
At the time of admission, doctors evaluated Matthew. In addition to his traumatic brain injury, he arrived with a tracheostomy and PEG tube placed. An individualized plan of care was developed to start Matthew on the road to recovery.
The neurological damage suffered in the accident limited Matthew's cognition. This made it difficult for him to follow commands. But the staff at Vibra was prepared and were able to work with Matthew on regaining his strength and getting back on his feet. Upon arrival, Matthew required total assistance with everything. Gradually, his work with the therapy team paid off. Matthew began using a walker to get around the campus, and within a week was walking without any help. He began using the stairs, stationary bicycle, and weights.
After a month at Vibra, Matthew reached a point where he could discharge to a more specialized level of care for his cognitive function. Because of his progress at Vibra Hospital of Denver, Matthew succeeded and has rejoined his family at home.Posted By
