For Dorothy Brown, a severe respiratory infection and pneumonia caused a prolonged hospitalization. The extended stay left Dorothy physically weak and in need of rehabilitation. She chose Vibra Rehabilitation Hospital of Denver for her recovery.
When Dorothy arrived at Vibra, her abilities were limited. She could only tolerate sitting up for one hour at a time and required the help of two people with a slideboard for transfers. Standing was limited to no more than a couple seconds. As a result, Dorothy couldn't complete any self care tasks, such as toileting, bathing, dressing, or cooking.
Dorothy worked hard with physical and occupational therapies while at Vibra. At discharge, Dorothy's independence had greatly increased. She no longer requires assistance for dressing or bathing. She can stand long enough to cook simple meals and is able to walk over 300 feet. Dorothy will continue to work with home health care to further increase her independence and endurance within her home.
The determination and perseverance Dorothy exhibited in the face of set backs and difficulties were key to achieving each and every goal she set. We have no doubt Dorothy will live life to the fullest and continue to reach all goals she sets for herself!Posted By
