Charles B.

The stroke that Charles Burley suffered took a serious toll on his health. Unable to eat anything by mouth, Charles required a feeding tube to receive nutrition. He was physically weak and debilitated. He could not walk or care for himself without assistance.

To recover, Charles came to Vibra Hospital of Southeastern Michigan - Taylor Campus. Though the work was hard, Charles put in the effort to improve. Fatigue, anxiety and muscle impairments would prove challenging. But nothing was going to stop Charles. His motivation and determination inspired the staff at Vibra, and Charles made great progress.

Each day, Charles completed his therapy. He built on each previous day by putting the education and compensatory strategies he learned to work. As a result, he rocked his physical, occupational, and speech therapy sessions.

By the time Charles discharged home, he had resumed a regular diet. He had made great strides with transfers, bed mobility, and ambulation. He also became independent with self-care tasks, with good safety awareness. Charles proved to all he encountered that hard work really pays off!
