Thomas Bell was living a normal life, working his well drilling business and was very active in his church. He was a very independent individual. Then, in June of 2018, he suffered a major stroke and also went into respiratory failure. In the blink of an eye he went from total independence to total dependence.

On July 15th, he came to Vibra Hospital of Mahoning Valley. Initially, besides being on a ventilator, he was unable to sit, stand, walk or talk. That’s when Vibra’s team took over and began working hard to get him back on his feet.

The entire team, including nursing, respiratory and rehab were very involved with Mr. Bell. Within three weeks he was breathing on his own. He would soon be sitting himself up at the edge of the bed, standing and even starting to walk. Mr. Bell was well underway on his journey back to independence.

On August 13th, Mr. Bell was strong enough to move to a rehab hospital to begin three hours of treatment a day. His goal is to return home to once again, work his business and return to the church.
