Larry was rushed to a local ER with respiratory distress and chest pain and testing positive for sputum culture, E. Coli, and possible pneumonia. Upon initial assessment by the Physical, Occupational & Speech Therapy teams at Vibra Hospital of Southeastern Michigan - Taylor Campus, Larry required assistance for all mobility and activities of daily living (ADLs).
Larry quickly demonstrated improvements in bed mobility, transfers, ambulation and all ADLs. A collaborative effort between Speech Therapy and the Respiratory team, Larry was weaned off the trach mask and returned to a full regular diet. He made significant gains with all therapy disciplines and even began wheeling himself down to therapy on his best days.
We are so proud and happy with Larry's progress! He has since transitioned to the next stage of his recovery at a rehabilitation facility, with a goal of getting back his full independence to enjoy his retirement.Posted By
