Patient J.M. admitted to Vibra Specialty Hospital of DeSoto from Baylor. His admitting diagnosis was diskitis. Upon initial evaluation, J.M. was very weak and required increased assistance as well as increased time to perform tasks as a result of his acute hospitalization.
J.M. had great support from his wife and was diligent with his rehab process, though his initial progress was slow. Once his pain was better controlled he was able to push himself more.
Initially, J.M. required maximum assistance for self-care activities, as well as with standing and transfers, preventing him from taking steps. Through his hard work, he was able to progress to walking with the rolling walker. He progressed with Occupational Therapy and was able to perform his self-care activities only requiring set-up assistance.
J.M. was able to discharge home with his wife and home health services to further progress towards his prior level of function. He was very pleased with the care received at Vibra Specialty Hospital DeSoto.Posted By
