On May 22nd my friend Aaron Mike came to my house and asked me if I was ready to go to the doctor. I had a night of troubled breathing. I was so weak, it felt like it took forever for me to find my way to get clothing, and to find enough energy to get to the car. He took me to Baker, Montana to the ER, where they put me on oxygen. I don’t remember anything after that until I woke up on the flight from Billings to Mandan.
My son said they flew me to Billings and he rode on the flight with me. They put a trach in my neck and didn’t feel I would survive an open heart surgery for a heart valve replacement. The hospital in Billings, Montana, asked my children to say their goodbyes to me, because they weren’t expecting me to survive the surgery. After this, I went for surgery, and the surgery went better than expected. They then flew me to Vibra Hospital in Mandan, North Dakota, to continue care, where I resided until July 4th.
“Now, I walk, I talk, I sing, I dance, I laugh, and I cry. I am alive and doing very well. I have been ready to go for 3 weeks, but had to continue the IV antibiotics, for I was diagnosed with endocarditis. Thank you for all the care and therapy. I am fully recovered.”Posted By
