Ms. Burroughs is a motivated and pleasant 57 year old who presented to MUSC on 10/31/2016 and was later transferred to Vibra Hospital’s LTAC due to sepsis from an abscess and necrotizing fasciitis. Due to her prolonged hospitalization, she was very weak, but eager to return home with her daughter.
While at the TCU, she participated in skilled PT, OT, and wound care services. She was able to increase her activity tolerance to over 2 hours a day of therapy, perform her self care and mobility at a modified Independent level with a walker, and only required one wound vac instead of two. Mr. Burroughs was able to return home to her previous level of function while using a walker. She was happy to return home and spend time with her grand children.
Ms. Burroughs said, “What makes me so successful in making my goals, is working with good people in the facility, and working hard…We all became close and they made sure I was going to meet my goals. Thanks to all the facility members that helped me make my goals!”Posted By
