Emma came to Gateway Rehabilitation Hospital after a serious fall at home. She had been recovering from surgery on her leg and started to feel dizzy often. Doctors found that Emma’s Sodium level was low, and that was causing her dizziness. She had to have a special diet and fluid restrictions to control her sodium levels. By the time Emma was ready for home she was teaching others about measuring fluids and how to space those out during the day.
Emma also had multiple wounds on her legs that made it really hard for her to walk. She saw doctors at Gateway every day that were able to monitor her and treat her complex medical conditions. She received her Peritoneal Dialysis every night and recovered quickly.
Emma’s advice is “Trust them. They are here for you!” She says that Dr. Shelton was wonderful! She wanted all of her favorite care givers in her photo! What a great team at Gateway!Posted By
